If you enjoy oysters you will love these easy oyster fritters. They are really good and pretty easy to make. They make a great appetizer or side dish. We love them dipped in our Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. Not a fan of ranch these are also great dipped in our cocktail sauce. Either works great! If you love oysters like we do you will probably need to double this recipe. They go fast!
Easy Oyster Fritters Ingredients Needed:
Fresh or canned oysters
Eggs
Black pepper
Salt
Cayenne
Onion
Garlic powder
All-purpose flour
Oil for frying
Doing some research on the oyster fritter, I found that many people like oyster fritter sandwiches. There are many different variations but I bet that would be delicious. It can be hard to find fresh oysters in certain regions, I’ve made these with canned oysters many times and they are delicious.

Easy Oyster Fritters
Easy and delicious!
Servings: 4 servings
- 2 cups of fresh oysters or 2 (8 ounce cans) oysters, drained and rinsed, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pinch cayenne
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- oil for frying

Whisk together flour, garlic powder, chopped onion, cayenne, salt and pepper in a bowl. Combine chopped oysters and eggs in another bowl. Mix with spoon.

Pour into flour mixture and mix to combine all ingredients until wet. Drop each spoonful of the mixture into hot oil and cook until brown and crispy.

Drain on paper towers. Makes about 12 to 15 fritters depending on the size you make them.
