Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Happy Fourth of July, my friends. The countdown is on for our summer road trip and I can hardly wait. (Just 22 days to go!)
I’m getting the housesitting and chicken sitting lined up and making sure things are ready to roll for the longer trip in the RV. We’ve all really missed traveling and now? It’s about all I can think about. It’s going to be fun!
ON THE BLOG this week: This Homemade Ice Cream can also be called the easiest (and best!) ice cream you will ever make or taste. I’ve been making this ice cream at least once a month for over 5 years now. With over a thousand 5 star reviews, it’s a favorite with everyone.
Homemade Taco Seasoning is easy to make and tastes so much better than store-bought. Loaded with an abundance of flavor and a tiny bit of heat, taco seasoning gets used more than anything else in my spice cupboard. I just mixed up a huge batch to take on the road with us this summer.
What I’m CRAVING: Watermelon!! I’ve been craving watermelon constantly this summer. Last year, it seemed like every single watermelon I bought was a lousy one and this year? I’ve had a long string of winners. YAY!
My FAVORITE THINGS this week are these little hanging baskets. I bought one to hang on the wall and hold the dog leashes in the camper. I hung the other one with a faux plant in it. They’re super cute and useful too!
What I’m WATCHING: The Tomorrow War. If you are able to suspend disbelief, this is a really fun movie to watch. It’s available now on Amazon Prime. I’ve missed new movies so much and I’ve very much looked forward to this one. Aliens, time travel, and Chris Pratt? The whole family enjoyed this. While it gets pretty cheesy at times, it’s also heartwarming, and has some good action sequences.
What I’m READING: Nothing amazing lately. I am so happy to have all your recommendations saved in all the comments here and here. I’m working my way through adding them to my library list. I can’t wait to dive into them on our road trip.
